FAQ

Are your Cabins insulated?

Our Cabins are fully insulated and exceed all regulations. Our Cabins have one of the highest (if not the highest) total insulation rating of any hire Cabin in New Zealand.

We use Industry proven Pink Batts in all our cabins and proudly state all insulation R values.

Floor – R1.6 Pink Batts enclosed in a cavity floor

Wall – R2.6 Pink Batts and solid wall cladding to reduce heat loss

Ceiling – R3.2 Pink Batts on top of our solid 13mm gib ceiling

New aluminum Slider door and window – tinted double-glazed lamented safety glass, argon gas filled for added insulation

Are your Cabins double glazed?

Yes, double glazed, tinted safety glass and filled with Argon gas.

How secure are your Cabins?

We only use quality Australian made window and door hardware for extra security. Our aluminium joinery is the strongest/most solid of any Cabin in New Zealand. Our windows have security stays fitted to each side so that the windows may be left open. For added piece of mind, we have fitted a high-quality security sensor that turns on the outside lights.

Do you provide heating?

Although our Cabins are one of the best (if not the best) insulated Cabins in New Zealand, we have fitted a small wall mounted Dimplex heater for your convenience.

How quiet are your Cabins?

Noise travels easiest through lighter and less dense materials such as single glazed windows and light cladding. Our Cabins are built from heavier and typically denser materials than most other Cabins. We use 13mm Gib lined ceilings, laminated thick double glazing in our slider door/window, dense R2.6 Pink Batts in the walls, double solid plywood cavity flooring and solid internal/external cladding. Customers report that our Cabins are one of the quietest and most private hire Cabins in New Zealand.

How storm proof are your Cabins?

Our Cabins have been designed and built strong. Our 4mm thick triple steel skid bearers anchor down the solid timber framed Cabins. Our Cabins are heavy, typically twice the weight of a chiller panel type Cabin. The will not bounce around on a stormy night!

How neighbour friendly are your Cabins?

Our Cabins have been designed and built to be neighbour friendly. Our well-made and attractively painted Cabins blend in easily to the neighbourhood.

How many power points are in the Cabin?

All of our Cabins have three double hot points and one single (dedicated to the wall heater).

What sort of lightning is in the Cabin?

Our Cabins have four LED low energy recessed lights. There is no need to supply or change the bulbs. There are two lights outside and two inside. The inside lights have separate switches so either one or two lights can be on at any time.

How do you deliver the Cabin?

We deliver the Cabin on a trailer behind a 4 x 4 vehicle. We use a purpose built remote controlled self-propelled trailer so this means we can generally deliver to tighter spots than if you use an operator used truck or crane.

Can we pick up the Cabins from you?

Our Cabins are one of the heaviest and most solid hire Cabins available. We have the proper lifting and moving equipment, so leave it to our trained staff.

Do I need a permit of building consent?

Generally no Council consent is needed. We do recommend you check with the Council as small sites may have an issue with site coverage.

How long can we rent a Cabin?

Minimum period is 6 months, but we do hire for shorter periods if we have spare Cabins available.

Do you do WINZ quotes?

We are a WINZ approved supplier and can assist you with a free quote.

How do we get power to them?

All our Cabins are wired with 16 amp single phase caravan type plugs on the back wall. We provide either a 16 amp caravan cord and plug (you will need a 16 amp outlet on your building) or a heavy-duty power cable with 10 amp RCD and standard 3 pin plug that can plug directly into a household wall socket. All our Cabins have an electrical COC and we only provide power connection solutions that comply with New Zealand regulations.

Do I get my bond back?

Do you drug test your Cabins?

All of our Cabins are tested for drug residue on site at the end of the lease period before we remove them from site. We have a strict no smoking/drug use policy with regards to our Cabins. Please do not hire our Cabins if you feel this may become an issue as our insurance does not cover remedial work required to decontaminate the cabin. We will seek redress for the cost of the work needed to fix.

Is there a delivery fee?
